We are a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Grappling team based in Ballyvolane, Cork City. We have classes for kids, teens and adults. Aontach coaches are familiar faces at domestic and international competition with a host of accolades.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling based martial art and sport that originates from kodokan judo in Japan. It was developed and modified in Brazil by members of the Gracie Family. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) eventually formed into its own combat sport through the inovations of the Gracie family, and became an essential skill in MMA.

Ben Judge and Barry Hickey are black belts under 4th degree black belt Felipe Martins. Ben and Barry trained extensively with Team FM Cork until they founded Aontach in 2020. Both athletes still fly the flag for Team FM Cork which is affiliated with the legendary Nova União which is regarded as one of the top jiu-jitsu teams in the world.
