At aontach jiu-jitsu, we love to compete. The competition team trains daily and we are always looking for the next athlete to join our ranks. Team practice is taken by Ben Judge and Barry Hickey.

Barry Hickey has over 10 years competitive experience. A worlds medalit and European champion, Barry specialises in a grueling top game with emphasis on the knee cut along with an exhausting pace. Barry also specialises in inside position guards, he brings a wealth of knowledge on the butterfly guard and single x guard to training.

Ben Judge brings a wealth of experience at domestic and international competition. Taking golds at every major domestic competition as well as being a 5 time IBJJF medalist, Ben specialises in open guards such as de la riva and collar sleeve. Ben also has a fast paced passing approach known as toreando which uses footwork and misdirection to pass the guard.

Both athletes bring different approaches and philosophy’s to the training room and try to facilitate individuals finding their own. Classes are ran daily and try to encourage active learning by teaching athletes to take their development into their own hands.
